- 3 bunch mustard greens(3kg)(washed n chopped)
- 1 bunch spinach(1kg)(washed n chopped)
- 250 g soya leaves(washed n chopped)
- 250 g fenugreek leaves(washed n chopped)
- 125 g green chilies chopped
- 125 red chili flakes
- As per taste salt
- 1st tadka
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp Red chili powder
- As per taste salt
- 125 g garlic paste
- 125 g ginger paste
- As required cooking oil
- 1/2 kg tomato
- 9,10 tbsp maize flour
- Final tadka
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp chopped garlic
- 3,4 red chili
Steps to make to make Sarson ka saag
- Add enough water in cauldron n let it heat add in chopped spinach mustard leaves,fenugreek leaves n soya leaves along with red chili flakes n green chilies cook on medium low flame for about 4,5 hrs for better result..
- Once cooked well strain n let it cool down..
Add in oil n let it heat than add ginger n garlic paste n saute till fragrant..now add chopped tomatoes n cook till soften add in spices (abovementioned)
than add cooked/boiled greens(spinach,mustard etc) cook well till oil separates if water doesn't dry than add 9،10 tbsp of maize flour n stir well continuously till the texture becomes smooth
(Used a hand blender to blend it into smooth) at this point you cal also freeze it once cool down - Now its time to make tempering
1st take 1 sliced onion n saute it into butter when it turn slightly brown add in chopped tomato,green chilies n saute well than add cooked greens n let it simmer for good 10,15 minutes.. - Melt the ghee n add zeera,chopped garlic n red chili..
When starts crackling pour over cooked greens..
Serve it with chapati..
