  1. 1 cup Tuvar Daal or Pigeon Pea Lentils
  2. 1 tsp Salt or to taste

  6. 2-3 slit Green Chillies
  7. 1 bunch chopped Coriander Leaves
  8. 2-3 tbsp Oil
  9. 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
  10. 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

Instructions to make to make Tuvar ki Khadi Daal

  1. Wash and soak the Lentils in enough drinking water for at least 2 to 3 hours. Keep it aside. In the meantime, heat Oil and saute Ginger garlic paste with chopped Onions. After a bit of sauteeing, add Tomatoes and the rest of the spices.
  2. Cover and cook on a low heat until done with the Tomatoes being soft and mushy. Mix well and now finally add the Lentils along with the water in which they have been soaked. Keep the heat on a medium high and adjust Salt at this stage. Also add in chopped Coriander Leaves. Cover and cook until it is done. The water is enough for it's cooking as these Lentils get cooked pretty much easily.
  3. Relish! Serve hot with Phulkas and Chapatis. It tastes yum with any of the Indian Breads. However if desired, it can be enjoyed with simple boiled Rice too alongside some Poppadoms and Salad. Enjoy!
